NEWS FLASH!!! Deborah De Williams is set to break a World Walk Record

Deborah is due to arrive back in her hometown, Melbourne at 11.00am on Friday 15th October 2004 at St Pauls Court, Federation Square. When Deborah arrives in Melbourne she will have broken the following 5 World Records Walks:

• World Walk Record for the first woman to walk around Australia

•World Walk Record for the longest walk in the shortest time – 15,669 kms in 343 days

•World Walk Record for the quickest walk over the longest distance – 343 days to walk 15,699 kms

•World Walk Record for the longest continuous walk by a woman

•The outright World Walk Record for the longest continuous walk by anyone on the planet

Come down to Federation Square and join us as we welcome Deborah home and congratulate her on her amazing achievements.

A History Making Event – Walk Around Australia – A Journey for Kids

Occasionally we are inspired by events and individuals that are greater than ourselves – Kids Help Line is proud to support Deborah De Williams. Deborah is taking on the ultimate challenge in support of Australian kids and to fulfil her dream – to be the first female to walk around Australia while raising awareness and money for Kids Help Line.

Walk Around Australia – A Journey for Kids will take Deborah De Williams just over a year, walking in a clockwise direction along Australia's National Highway 1 and returning to Melbourne on Friday 15th October 2004. Deborah will be speaking to school children in all towns she visits and will also be engaging in media and public talks. You can join with Deborah on her inspirational journey when she walks through your town, click on the map on the left to see when Deborah will be coming to your home town!

During her ‘Journey for Kids’ Deborah is raising money for Kids Help Line, Australia’s only 24 hour, free, confidential and anonymous telephone and online counselling service for kids aged 5 – 18. To help Deborah help more kids, you can put a donation in her collection bucket when she comes to your town or you can make a telephone donation on 1800 552 033 or make a secure online donation through the Donations tab above.
